Every day we civilians go about our daily business in the sound knowledge that over 147,000 police men and women have benefitted from comprehensive, current and relevant training that ensures the safety of both them and the public.

However the question has to be asked, how can this training be maintained in today's financial climate? There isn't a week that goes by without some talk of cuts in police budgets. When cuts happen, one of the first things that often suffers is training. Whilst this may seem a quick and effective financial fix, the reality is that essential Health & Safety training - training that can literally mean the difference between life and death - suffers.

Dynamic Risk Assessment training is critical in maintaining the safety of operational police staff and the public they serve - that’s a given, so myself and the Safety4Business team knew how important it was to design, practical, engaging e-learning that could help the police deliver this training in a cost-effective format.

In collaboration with the Metropolitan, Cleveland, Gloucestershire and Fife Police Forces, Safety4Business created Dynamic Risk Assessment Online, a new DRA Refresher course that delivers 'Stop and Think' training to operational staff for a fraction of the cost of the face to face alternatives that are currently used by most police forces.
